$14.00 - $17.00 per hour | 30-35 hours per week

The Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County is seeking a motivated Athletic Director to lead and grow our youth sports programs. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with children, building positive relationships, and creating engaging recreational experiences that help youth learn, grow, & succeed.

Position Overview

Preferred Certifications

  • Monday-Friday afternoons and evenings

  • Weekends during sports leagues

  • Summer hours will be available as well

  • CPR Certified

  • First Aid

  • Valid Driver's License

Key Responsibilities

Youth Development

  • Serve as a positive role model and mentor.

  • Promote sportsmanship, character development, and healthy lifestyles.

  • Encourage participation and member engagement. 

Staff & Volunteer Management

  • Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate coaches and volunteers.

  • Provide guidance and support to program staff.

  • Ensure accountability and adherence to Club policies.

Program Leadership

  • Plan and coordinate athletic programs, leagues, clinics, tournaments, and recreational activities.

  • Ensure programs are inclusive and welcoming to all participants.

  • Create engaging experiences that promote skill development and teamwork.

Facility & Equipment Management

  • Maintain athletic facilities and equipment.

  • Monitor inventory and coordinate purchases.

  • Ensure a safe and organized environment.

Community Partnerships

  • Build relationships with schools, parents, community organizations, and sports leagues.

  • Promote participation and community involvement.

  • Represent the Club at athletic events and meetings.

Administrative Duties

  • Maintain program records and reports.

  • Assist with budgets and expenses tracking.

  • Complete required Club documentation.

Qualifications

Required

  • High School Diploma

  • Experience working with youth

  • Strong communication and leadership skills

  • Ability to organize and manage programs and events

  • Ability to work with diverse youth populations

  • Basic computer skills

  • Flexibility to work evenings and weekends

Preferred

  • Experience in recreation, athletics, after-school programs, or youth development

  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers

  • Knowledge of common sports and recreational activities.
