Youth Development Professional

Job Description:

The Boys & Girls Club of Jefferson County is seeking Youth Development Professionals for our facility located in Madison, Indiana. If you enjoy working with children and like being on your feet and interacting, making their afterschool experience high quality and fun, then the Boys & Girls Club might be a perfect fit for you.​​​​

We are looking for staff for all areas of the Club. If you like younger children, art, arts & crafts, or games in the gym, we have a spot that will suit you.

Job Category: Part-Time/ Non-Exempt

Pay: $13.00 to $15.00/hour

Required Qualifications: High School Diploma, Knowledge of and the ability to learn and teach the rules of play of common games and activities. Experience working with and instructing children and youth in recreational and/or educational games and activities.

Preferred Qualifications: 2 years college credit; experience working for a nonprofit organization; experience in an afterschool setting.

Primary Functions: oversee afterschool programming with children ages, 5 & up, including conducting educational, recreational, and interactive activities, serving snack, and engaging members in constructive ways. Responsible for safety, organization, program planning and preparation, record keeping, and cleaning.

Hours: Monday thru Friday, 2:00 to 6:00 throughout the school year. Summer hours will be available as well.

Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week

Schedule:

  • 4 hour shift

  • Day shift

  • Monday to Friday

  • On call

Experience:

  • Childcare: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

  • First Aid Certification (Preferred)

  • CPR Certification (Preferred)
